Accor and Treebo End Proposed India Hotel Partnership
Accor and Treebo have ended discussions over a proposed master-license partnership for the Ibis and Mercure brands in India after the companies were unable to finalise definitive agreements. The arrangement, first announced in April 2025, was intended to support Accor’s target of expanding from 71 Indian hotels to 300 by 2030. Treebo says its wider strategy remains unchanged and plans to grow its economy portfolio from around 900 to 2,000 hotels over five years. It will also develop its in-house mid-market brand Medalio, with a target of roughly 100 properties, while expanding its hotel-technology platform for independent accommodation businesses.
