IRCTC Announces 12-Day Pilgrimage Train Covering Rajasthan and Ujjain from Solapur
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is introducing another organised pilgrimage journey under its Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train programme, connecting major religious sites with cultural destinations across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
The special tour, titled Divine Rajasthan with Khatu Shyam Ji and Ujjain Yatra, is scheduled to depart from Solapur on 21 October 2026. The itinerary covers 11 nights and 12 days, offering travellers a structured journey combining spiritual visits and sightseeing experiences.
The programme includes several prominent destinations, including Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Khatu Shyam Ji and Ujjain. The route brings together pilgrimage centres and Rajasthan’s established cultural tourism attractions, allowing travellers to explore multiple destinations through a single organised package.
The tourist train reportedly has a capacity of 750 passengers, with fares beginning at ₹18,670 for Sleeper Class. Travellers opting for 2AC accommodation can expect package prices reaching ₹38,040.
Rather than limiting the offering to railway transportation, IRCTC has developed the programme as a complete travel package. Arrangements cover accommodation, meals, local transfers and guided sightseeing, reducing the need for passengers to coordinate individual components of the journey.
The initiative forms part of the growing market for organised spiritual and pilgrimage tourism in India. By combining religious destinations with heritage cities, such programmes appeal to travellers interested in both devotional experiences and cultural exploration.
The inclusion of Rajasthan’s well-known destinations also reflects the commercial potential of linking heritage tourism with multi-destination travel. These itineraries can encourage travellers to visit several locations within one journey while benefiting from coordinated transport and accommodation.
For travel agents, packaged rail tourism offers an additional product category for customers who prefer organised journeys with clearly defined itineraries and bundled services.
The continued development of such programmes also supports wider efforts to strengthen India’s domestic tourism circuits, particularly those connecting religious attractions with cultural and heritage destinations.
