StayVista Targets 2,500 Villas and 100 Boutique Hotels in Ambitious India Expansion
India’s market for private villas and boutique accommodation is attracting greater attention from organised hospitality operators, with StayVista outlining plans to significantly expand its portfolio over the next three years.
The company is targeting 2,500 villas and 100 boutique hotels, reflecting its intention to establish a stronger presence across the country’s leisure accommodation sector. StayVista currently operates more than 1,400 villas and 15 boutique hotels, giving it an established base for the proposed expansion.
Its immediate development priorities include increasing the number of boutique hotels to 30 by FY2027. The company also aims to take its total managed accommodation inventory beyond 15,000 keys, expanding the range of properties available through its hospitality network.
The growth strategy incorporates three distinct brands—Vaana, Sova and Gram’s—designed to address different requirements within the accommodation market. This multi-brand approach allows StayVista to cater to travellers seeking experiences that differ from conventional hotel stays.
The planned expansion comes amid changing preferences among domestic leisure travellers. Demand for personalised hospitality experiences, private accommodation and smaller properties is creating opportunities for operators that can offer greater flexibility in stay formats.
The popularity of luxury villas and experiential holidays also reflects a wider shift towards accommodation that forms an important part of the holiday experience rather than simply providing a place to stay.
For travel agencies, destination management companies and holiday planners, StayVista’s expansion could broaden the available accommodation inventory across leisure markets. It may also encourage new supplier partnerships and help operators create differentiated packages for families, groups and premium leisure travellers.
The development highlights the growing importance of alternative accommodation within India’s hospitality industry, as professionally managed villas and smaller hotel formats become increasingly relevant to the country’s tourism distribution network.
