India’s Hotel Transactions Jump 197% to US$497 Million in H1 2026
India’s hotel investment market recorded transactions worth US$497 million across 11 deals in January–June 2026, a 197% increase from US$167 million a year earlier, according to JLL’s latest report. Tier II and Tier III cities accounted for 60% of first-half transaction volumes.
The report projected full-year transactions of approximately US$1.1 billion, up 94% from 2025. Branded hotel signings reached 29,360 keys, highlighting continued interest in expanding hospitality supply beyond established metropolitan markets.
B2B impact: Smaller-city investment can create opportunities for hotel operators, destination management companies and tour operators developing regional programmes. Transaction values, hotel signings and operational room supply measure different things: a signed property does not immediately become bookable accommodation. Developers and travel sellers should track project completion, opening dates and destination access alongside investment announcements.
