Mexico’s Cruise Arrivals Rise 17.1% in First Half

Mexico welcomed more than 6.5 million cruise passengers during the first half of 2026, an increase of 17.1% compared with the same period last year. The visitors arrived aboard 1,839 cruise ships, with vessel calls rising 12.2%. Average passengers per ship increased from 3,406 to 3,554. Pacific ports recorded particularly strong growth, led by Puerto Chiapas, Mazatlán and Cabo San Lucas. The Gulf-Caribbean region received 4.3 million passengers across 1,159 ship arrivals, supported by growth in Progreso and Cozumel. The performance highlights cruise tourism’s growing role in supporting port economies, excursions, transport providers and local visitor spending.
