Maharashtra Pushes Munawale Aqua Tourism Project in Satara

Maharashtra Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai has directed departments to speed up the Munawale Aqua Tourism Project and complete approvals within the planned timeline. The project, centred around the Munawale and Shivsagar Reservoir area in Satara, is being positioned as one of the state’s flagship tourism initiatives. The plan includes boating, water tourism, water sports, tourist facilitation centres and supporting visitor amenities around the Koyna reservoir. Under revised administrative approval, the project cost has crossed INR 92 crore. Once completed, it could give Satara a stronger identity in Maharashtra’s sustainable tourism circuit while also creating local employment opportunities.
