Dr V P Jeyaseelan Takes Charge of Tamil Nadu Tourism

Dr V P Jeyaseelan, IAS, has been appointed Director of Tamil Nadu Tourism and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation. The appointment comes at an important time for the state, as Tamil Nadu continues to strengthen its position across heritage tourism, pilgrimage circuits, coastal experiences, temple trails, wellness travel and cultural tourism. For the travel trade, this leadership change will be closely watched because Tamil Nadu has strong domestic and inbound potential, especially with better packaging of lesser-known destinations and improved destination infrastructure. The state’s next phase of tourism growth will depend on stronger trade engagement, digital visibility and experience-led promotion.
