Air France-KLM Economic Impact Study Reveals €114 Billion Contribution to EU Economy
A new study shows Air France-KLM generates approximately €114 billion in annual economic impact across the European Union, sustaining more than 68,000 direct, indirect, and induced jobs in the Spanish market alone. The figures underscore the airline group’s role as a structural economic contributor beyond its core aviation operations.
The study’s release coincides with broader European aviation capacity adjustments for the winter season. Ryanair announced 53 routes from Barcelona for winter 2026–27, adding a new connection to Poznan and offering more than 3.6 million seats between late October and March, with increased frequencies on 20 routes. Vueling is promoting Bilbao-Italy connections with fares below €20 per leg for autumn and winter travel.
