Goa opens the winter charter season with Russia back on the map

Goa has formally begun its 2026–27 international tourism season, welcoming the first Russian charter of the winter programme from Yekaterinburg.

The inaugural flight carried 162 passengers, with the charter programme initially scheduled at five weekly flights, rising to nine weekly flights from October.

Russia remains an important source market for Goa, and the reopening of the charter pipeline is particularly relevant for hotels, DMCs, ground handlers and excursion companies preparing for the winter season.

Why B2B should watch: Charter aviation remains a powerful tool for converting source-market demand directly into resort occupancy. India’s international tourism opportunity
