Goa’s Charter Season Takes Off with Aeroflot’s Return

Goa, India — Goa’s international charter tourism season for 2026-27 officially commenced on Wednesday with the arrival of the first Aeroflot charter flight at Goa International Airport, Dabolim. The inaugural flight was welcomed with traditional Goan hospitality, including live music, rose petals, and a cake-cutting ceremony attended by Mauvin Godinho, Minister for Protocol, Hospitality and Legislative Affairs, Government of Goa.

For the B2B travel trade, the resumption of Aeroflot’s charter services signals a meaningful rebound in Russian inbound traffic — historically one of Goa’s most important source markets. Airport authorities have strengthened immigration counters, streamlined customs clearance, and enhanced ground support services to handle the anticipated surge in international passenger traffic.

Why it matters: Goa’s charter season is a bellwether for India’s inbound leisure tourism. The return of Russian charters, facilitated through sustained coordination between the Airports Authority of India and civil aviation authorities, should provide fresh momentum to hotels, beach resorts, and transport operators across North and South Goa.
