UPI Represents Innovation at Population Scale

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted India’s global leadership in digital technology, noting that the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) represents “innovation at population scale”.

According to the minister, India’s indigenous digital infrastructure has scaled so rapidly that 50% of the world’s real-time payments are now processed through UPI. This milestone underscores India’s success in driving financial inclusion and building scalable fintech solutions.
