RailOne App Crosses 4.76 Crore Downloads, Records 10 Lakh Daily Ticket Bookings
NEW DELHI: Indian Railways’ RailOne app is seeing rapid adoption, with downloads reaching 4.76 crore and average daily ticket bookings touching around 10 lakh. The figures were shared by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Parliament.
Launched to bring multiple passenger services onto a single platform, RailOne allows users to book reserved, unreserved and platform tickets, while also providing train information, PNR services and passenger support.
The app currently handles approximately 2.79 lakh reserved and 7.24 lakh unreserved ticket transactions each day, highlighting the growing shift towards digital railway travel services.
Digital ticketing across Indian Railways has also expanded significantly. Around 89% of reserved tickets are now booked online, compared with about 49% in 2013-14. For unreserved journeys, nearly 39% of tickets are being purchased through non-counter channels.
The growing use of RailOne reflects the wider digital transformation of India’s transportation and tourism ecosystem, making rail travel more convenient and reducing dependence on physical booking counters.
