ixigo’s hotel business emerges as a growth driver

Travel platform ixigo reported strong hotel-business growth in its second-quarter FY2027 results, published in the 18 October news cycle. Its reported hotel gross transaction value rose 159% year on year, while hotel revenue increased 528%; the business handled approximately 470,000 room nights during the quarter.

The results illustrate the potential of cross-selling accommodation to an established rail and air customer base. For hotel partners and distribution businesses, the important takeaway is the growing role of digital platforms in customer acquisition and the competition for direct and intermediary bookings.
