IHG signs 15-hotel, 2,000-room Staybridge Suites pipeline for Australia
IHG Hotels & Resorts and Australian developer ALAND have signed a master development agreement to introduce Staybridge Suites to Australia.
The agreement covers at least 15 hotels and 2,000 rooms. The first two properties are already signed: a 130-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Parramatta and a 112-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Leppington, both in Greater Western Sydney.
The IHG–ALAND deal is also significant because it signals a broader shift in the APAC accommodation mix. The first properties target Parramatta and Leppington, two important growth areas of Western Sydney rather than traditional resort destinations.

B2B takeaway: Extended stay is becoming an increasingly important hospitality segment as business travel, project-based travel, relocation and longer leisure stays overlap.
