ATE26 Reinforces Australia’s Global Tourism Push with 55,000+ Business Meetings

Australian Tourism Exchange 2026 concluded in Adelaide with a strong message for the global travel industry Australia is aggressively rebuilding international tourism partnerships and expanding its global trade footprint.

The five-day event brought together more than 2,700 delegates, including 730 international buyers and travel agents from 32 countries, alongside 1,400 Australian tourism representatives from 674 organisations. Over 55,000 pre-scheduled business appointments were conducted during the event, highlighting the scale of Australia’s inbound tourism ambitions.

Hosted at the Adelaide Convention Centre, ATE26 served as Tourism Australia’s flagship B2B marketplace, connecting global buyers with Australian tourism suppliers across luxury travel, experiential tourism, Indigenous experiences, regional destinations, adventure travel, and business events.

The event also showcased 74 new tourism products, while 131 first-time buyer organisations attended the exchange a strong indicator of renewed international interest in the Australian tourism market.

Industry leaders positioned ATE26 as more than just a trade show. The event reflected Australia’s broader strategy to strengthen aviation partnerships, rebuild long-haul inbound demand, and diversify visitor spending across regional destinations rather than concentrating tourism solely in gateway cities.

B2B Take

For tour operators, DMCs, and outbound travel planners, ATE26 signals growing global confidence in Australia’s tourism sector despite ongoing airfare and long-haul travel cost pressures. The strong buyer participation and record business appointments suggest Australia remains one of the world’s most commercially attractive destinations for premium experiential and FIT travel growth.
