Sterling Opens 80th Resort in Chhattisgarh

Sterling Holiday Resorts, the leisure hospitality arm of Thomas Cook (India), has strengthened its presence in central India with the opening of Sterling Naman Bastar in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. The property marks Sterling’s 80th resort, as well as its first in the state, signalling the brand’s continued expansion into emerging leisure destinations.

Spread across 3.21 acres, the resort features 45 rooms and is positioned to tap into growing interest in Bastar’s natural landscapes, tribal heritage and cultural experiences. With this addition, Sterling’s network now spans 66+ destinations with more than 3,800 keys.

The launch reflects the wider trend of India’s hotel expansion beyond major metros, as organised hospitality brands increasingly enter Tier-II and Tier-III destinations. The development could also strengthen Chhattisgarh tourism by making Bastar more accessible to domestic and experiential travellers.
