Adani Airports lands US$1 billion as global investors back India’s airport growth story
India’s airport infrastructure has attracted another major vote of confidence, with Adani Airport Holdings raising ₹9,825 crore — approximately US$1 billion — from Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek and BlackRock-managed funds.
The deal values the airport platform at around US$18 billion pre-money, with the capital earmarked for airport modernisation, capacity expansion, airport-city development and non-aeronautical businesses. AAHL says the programme could take annual passenger-handling capacity to around 200 million across its eight airports.
Why B2B travel should care: Airports are increasingly becoming commercial ecosystems rather than simply gateways. More capacity, retail, hotels, ground handling and airport-city development could materially alter India’s distribution and MICE landscape.
