IHG Strengthens Hyderabad Presence with New 250-Room Crowne Plaza Development
IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its footprint in Hyderabad through a new Crowne Plaza property planned along Shamshabad Airport Road, strengthening the international hospitality group’s position in one of India’s important corporate travel destinations.
The company has entered into a management agreement with AR Infra Consultancy for the development of Crowne Plaza Hyderabad Shamshabad Airport Road, a 250-room hotel scheduled to commence operations in the first quarter of 2031.
The proposed development will include 37 suites within its total room inventory, providing accommodation options for corporate guests, international visitors and business travellers requiring premium hospitality services.
Its location near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and the World Trade Centre is expected to be an important advantage. The surrounding business environment and airport connectivity could support demand from corporate clients, airline-related travellers and organisers of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
The hotel’s planned infrastructure includes five food and beverage outlets, dedicated meeting and event facilities, and wellness amenities. These offerings are intended to serve both individual business travellers and organised groups requiring accommodation alongside professional event spaces.
The agreement reflects the broader expansion of international hotel brands in India, particularly in markets where corporate activity and improving transport infrastructure are supporting demand for professionally managed accommodation.
Airport-linked hotel developments are also becoming important to the country’s business travel and MICE ecosystem. Such properties can serve short-duration business visits, conferences, corporate meetings and travellers seeking convenient access to major transport hubs.
