Sarawak pushes BIMP-EAGA from conversation to connectivity
Sarawak Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin has called for BIMP-EAGA — Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area — to move beyond dialogue into tangible projects delivering stronger connectivity, trade and investment.
For Sarawak, this is particularly significant. Borneo’s tourism proposition depends heavily on overcoming the geography that separates destinations.
For tour operators: Better intra-Borneo connectivity could eventually make multi-destination packages involving Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei and Indonesian Borneo considerably easier to sell.
