Odisha Coastal Highway to Strengthen Tourism Connectivity

Odisha is set to receive a major tourism and transport boost through the proposed 160.18-km Rameshwar–Paradeep Coastal Highway. The project, estimated at ₹8,300.79 crore, will pass through Khurda, Puri, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts. The Rameshwar–Konark section will be developed as a four-lane access-controlled highway, while the Konark–Paradeep stretch will have two lanes with paved shoulders. Designed for speeds of up to 100 kmph, the highway could reduce journey times by nearly two-and-a-half hours. It will also improve access to major attractions, including the Jagannath Temple, Konark Sun Temple and Ramchandi Temple.
