Namibia Records Decline in International Tourist Arrivals

Namibia received approximately 1.35 million international tourists in 2025, representing a year-on-year decline of 6.9%. Despite the fall in arrivals, overseas travellers stayed for an average of around 13 nights, highlighting the destination’s ability to attract longer and experience-led holidays. Namibia’s tourism proposition is built around wildlife, desert landscapes, adventure, road trips, culture and low-density luxury. For the trade, the decline points to the need for improved air access, stronger promotion and deeper engagement with emerging source markets. India is among the markets being targeted for future growth, particularly in premium leisure and specialised African itineraries.
