Marriott Adds Seven Hotels and 1,262 Rooms Across Thailand
Marriott International is expanding its presence in Thailand through an agreement with FICO Corporation covering seven hotels and 1,262 rooms across Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. The expansion will introduce three Marriott brands to the Thai market while also increasing the company’s presence in the luxury segment.
Bangkok will receive five properties, including the 288-room JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn and a 147-room citizenM Bangkok Sukhumvit 11. Three Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties will add further midscale capacity across different Bangkok locations.
The agreement also introduces Series by Marriott to Thailand through properties in Pattaya and Phuket. The two leisure-focused hotels will add 192 rooms in North Pattaya and 142 rooms in Phuket Patong.
The expansion reflects Marriott’s strategy of serving multiple traveller segments, from luxury and lifestyle guests to value-conscious business and leisure travellers.
For the Indian outbound market, Thailand remains one of the region’s most important destinations, supported by strong air connectivity, established tour-operator networks and broad appeal across leisure, family, luxury and MICE segments. Additional branded inventory could give Indian travel companies more choice as demand continues to diversify beyond Bangkok and traditional beach holidays.
