Formula 1 Returns to Malaysia’s Sepang Circuit

Formula 1 will return to Malaysia when Sepang International Circuit hosts the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix from 2–4 October 2026. The unusual arrangement places Bahrain’s named race in Malaysia and remains subject to final agreements and World Motor Sport Council approval. Sepang last staged Formula 1 in 2017, making the comeback an opportunity for Malaysia’s visitor economy. Hotels, airlines, transport companies and tour operators can build race-weekend packages combining Kuala Lumpur, food, shopping and cultural experiences. Trade partners should secure inventory early, coordinate transfers and market the event accurately as the Bahrain Grand Prix hosted at Sepang.
