American Airlines to Launch Chicago–Tokyo Flights in 2027
American Airlines is set to launch flights between Chicago O’Hare and Tokyo in 2027, using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The new service will strengthen air connectivity between the United States and Japan, supporting business travel, leisure movement and transpacific tourism flows. Tokyo continues to remain one of Asia’s most important aviation and tourism hubs, while Chicago provides strong domestic feed from across the US. For travel planners, the route will create more options for Japan-bound itineraries and onward connections in Asia. The launch also reflects the continued recovery and expansion of long-haul international networks as airlines rebuild capacity on strategic global routes.
