THAILAND PROJECTS 250,000 CHINESE ARRIVALS FOR NATIONAL DAY PERIOD, 115 BILLION BAHT REVENUE
Thailand’s tourism sector is riding China’s Golden Week momentum. During the September 27–October 3 week alone, Thailand welcomed 133,900 Chinese visitors—a 41.98 percent week-on-week surge against total foreign arrivals of 522,500. TAT projections for the 13-day window (September 25–October 7) anticipate 250,000 Chinese tourists and 11.5 billion baht in revenue—up 24 percent and 37 percent respectively year-on-year.
South Korea, meanwhile, has emerged as the top overseas destination for Chinese travelers during this period, capturing 20.1 percent of planned outbound trips, with Singapore second at 6.6 percent. Notably, 54 percent of surveyed Chinese respondents planned outbound travel this National Day season, versus 35 percent in 2025.
B2B Takeaway: The rebound in Chinese outbound is real and accelerating. Thai operators who maintained Mandarin-capable staff and WeChat/Alipay infrastructure through the lean years are now reaping dividends.
