Delhi Airport prepares for BRICS with higher international capacity — and fights misinformation

Delhi Airport is activating Pier C at Terminal 3 for international operations ahead of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, scheduled for 11–13 September.

International arrivals began using the facility from September 9, with arrivals and departures planned from September 10. The move is expected to raise Delhi Airport’s annual international passenger-handling capacity to about 31 million, according to ETTravelWorld.

At the same time, DIAL has filed an FIR against 63 social-media handles over allegedly misleading posts about flooding at the airport. DIAL said temporary water accumulation occurred at the T3 arrival forecourt after heavy rain on September 4, but airport operations were not disrupted and the situation was resolved within about 20 minutes.
