DGCA Bans MOBIKINS MK-PB-04 Power Bank on Flights Serving India
India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has prohibited the MOBIKINS MK-PB-04 power bank from carriage on flights to, from and within India. The restriction covers cabin baggage, checked baggage and cargo, and applies to the specified model.
The directive follows safety concerns involving the device. An IndiGo Delhi–Chennai flight was diverted to Hyderabad on October 11 after a reported onboard power-bank fire. Airlines have been instructed to identify the model, prevent its carriage and communicate the restriction to passengers.
B2B impact: Travel agencies, corporate travel desks and tour operators should update pre-departure communications with the exact brand and model number. Clear wording is essential: this model-specific order should not be presented as a blanket ban on every power bank. Passengers should also follow the applicable airline rules for other batteries and devices.
