Chinese Provinces Intensify Global Tourism Partnerships at ITB China 2026

Beyond national tourism boards, Chinese provincial authorities are intensifying inbound travel competition at ITB China 2026. Hainan Province (China’s tropical tourism and duty-free shopping hub) will host a dedicated session for global travel operators and media, with a planned Memorandum of Understanding signing for ITB China 2027 Partner Province designation. Zhejiang Province will host “Zhejiang Night,” showcasing cultural heritage and inbound opportunities. Georgia, Germany, Malaysia, and Morocco are also participating with dedicated events .

Why it matters for B2B:

For international tour operators, Chinese provincial tourism authorities are now actively courting partnerships—not just the national board. Hainan’s duty-free shopping ecosystem is a major draw for luxury travelers. Zhejiang’s cultural assets (including Hangzhou and historic water towns) appeal to heritage-focused itineraries.
If you target Chinese inbound or outbound, attending ITB China or securing a follow-up meeting with provincial authorities is strategic. Culinary and experiential positioning is the winning formula .
