India’s airport infrastructure financing story gets stronger
Delhi International Airport Ltd has raised ₹3,500 crore through 15-year rupee-denominated non-convertible debentures to refinance upcoming $522.6 million dollar notes.
The transaction is significant because airport infrastructure requires enormous long-duration capital, particularly as Indian passenger demand continues to expand.
Why B2B matters: airports are becoming investment platforms in their own right — combining aviation, retail, hospitality, commercial real estate, MICE and surface transport. The country’s wider airport expansion plan shows the scale of the infrastructure requirement.
The financing story is therefore just as important to hotel developers and airport-city planners as it is to aviation analysts.
