Sikkim takes tourism administration digital

Sikkim has moved into a new phase of tourism administration, with digital registration and renewal for hotels, resorts, homestays, B&Bs, service apartments, holiday homes and restaurants.

The system runs through the state’s Single Sign-On platform and allows establishments to apply, pay fees and download certificates digitally.

Why this matters to operators: The shift reduces paperwork and creates a cleaner digital database of tourism accommodation.

For a destination with a large independent and homestay ecosystem, that can eventually mean better regulatory oversight, data collection and destination planning.
