China Business Visa Restrictions Hit Indian Corporate Travel

Indian business travellers are facing greater difficulty securing visas for China, creating new challenges for companies dependent on frequent movement of executives and technical teams. Approval rates for some businesses have reportedly fallen to just 20–40%, compared with near-complete approvals earlier. Longer processing periods and repeated applications are also adding uncertainty to corporate travel planning. The issue is particularly important for manufacturing companies, as certain sectors source as much as 50% of their components and capital equipment from China. While direct flights between India and China have resumed, tougher business-visa conditions could limit the full benefits of restored aviation connectivity and complicate commercial travel.
