India Remains Nepal’s Largest Tourism Market
India remained Nepal’s biggest international source market in July, contributing 23,490 visitors, or nearly 33% of the country’s total arrivals. Nepal welcomed 71,775 international tourists during the month, representing year-on-year growth of 2.3%. China ranked second with 11,099 visitors, followed by the United States with 7,754. However, July’s total remained 4.2% below the 74,883 arrivals recorded during the same month in 2019. Nepal has received 693,379 international visitors during the first seven months of 2026. The figures underline the importance of cross-border connectivity, pilgrimage tourism, short holidays and shared cultural links in driving travel from India.
