Gold Coast Pursues Additional International Air Services

Tourism authorities on Australia’s Gold Coast have announced renewed efforts to secure additional international airline services after the destination recorded tourism expenditure of approximately A$8.9 billion, including an estimated A$1.5 billion from international visitors annually. India and several Asian markets have been identified as priorities as officials continue discussions with airline partners to improve international connectivity. The initiative reflects the destination’s strategy to strengthen its global aviation links and expand visitor access. It also comes as India strengthens its position in Australia’s visitor economy, supported by demand for leisure, education, sporting events and MICE travel.
