Indian Hotels Company Pushes Growth Beyond Luxury Metro Markets
Indian Hotels Company is increasingly expanding beyond its traditional luxury positioning, with a sharper focus on mid-market brands, smaller cities and regional destinations. The company reported 20 hotel signings and 11 openings in the June quarter, taking its portfolio to 645 hotels. It is now targeting 700 hotels by 2030. A large part of the growth is coming through brands such as Ginger, Gateway and Tree of Life, with expansion in destinations like Bharatpur, Trichy, Sindhudurg, Jawai and Wayanad. This reflects a major shift in Indian hospitality, where growth is no longer limited to major metros but is moving into high-potential regional travel markets.
