Southeast Asia’s traveller is becoming an experience buyer

Trip.com’s Malaysian data is perhaps the clearest snapshot of the broader regional shift attraction bookings nearly quadrupled, cruise and rail bookings more than doubled, while travellers increasingly bought car rentals, airport transfers and premium accommodation.
The implication for Indian operators is straightforward.

A successful Southeast Asian itinerary can no longer be sold simply as:

Flight + Hotel + Breakfast.

The stronger product is:

Flight + Hotel + Experience + Transfer + Attraction + Local Mobility + Event.

That is where margins and differentiation increasingly sit.
