Investment Capital Pours into B2B and AI

The latest Skift research highlights that travel capital is no longer backing large C-side platforms. The industry saw a monumental $18.4 billion in VC/PE flow into 161 rounds in H1 2026, with a staggering 49 of those rounds—totaling $6.67 billion—targeting B2B tech and AI infrastructure. The big takeaway is that the B2B tech stack is now the hottest asset class in tourism.

The direction is already visible across the travel ecosystem, where companies are investing in AI-powered travel technology, operational systems and backend infrastructure rather than simply competing for consumer attention. TheTravigator has previously examined how AI in travel and hospitality is moving from experimentation into core tour-operator operations, with technology being used across itinerary creation, vendor management, booking and delivery.

The same operational shift can be seen across tour operations. TheTravigator’s analysis of AI-powered tour operations examines how artificial intelligence is being integrated into itinerary creation, vendor management, bookings and ground delivery.
