Asia-Pacific Takes the Lead in Mega Exhibition Venues

Asia-Pacific now has 41 exhibition venues with at least 100,000 square metres of indoor exhibition space, compared with 38 in Europe, according to the 2026 World Map of Exhibition Venues. The finding establishes a lead in the number of mega venues, rather than a new ranking based solely on total regional floor area.

The UFI and jwc study counted 1,565 venues worldwide with at least 5,000 square metres of gross indoor exhibition space. Their combined capacity reached 45.2 million square metres, using data as of December 31, 2025.

B2B impact: The findings reinforce Asia-Pacific’s importance to international exhibitions and business events. For India, venue investment needs to work alongside hotels, airport connectivity, ground transport and delegate services. Large buildings create hosting capacity; sustained tourism value depends on attracting events and converting attendance into room nights and local spending.
