China’s inbound summer market shows strong momentum
China’s National Immigration Administration data, cited by Chinese media, showed 22.914 million foreign arrivals in the first half of 2026, an increase of 20.4% year-on-year. Chinese tourism reporting also pointed to continuing international interest in “China Travel” content, with related social-media trends generating billions of views.
The revival is relevant to airlines, destination marketers and hotel groups across Asia. The opportunity is not limited to Beijing and Shanghai: mountain landscapes, cultural cities, space-launch tourism and less conventional destinations are increasingly being packaged for international visitors.
