Abu Dhabi’s Free-Visa Push Turns Indian Demand into Packaged Business
Abu Dhabi is using visa incentives to move beyond destination marketing and directly influence how Indian holidays are packaged and sold. Under a new three-month programme, eligible Indian passport holders can have the UAE entry-visa cost covered when they purchase a qualifying Abu Dhabi holiday package.
The scheme is valid until October 31, 2026, with an initial allocation of 20,000 visas. Travellers must book through participating travel partners or OTAs, stay for at least three consecutive nights at an Abu Dhabi hotel and have a return flight from India.
The B2B implication is clear: the incentive is designed around the travel distribution chain rather than independent travellers. Participating partners can process visas through a DCT-appointed DMC, while the tourism authority reimburses Dh285 per visa.
For Indian operators, the programme creates an opportunity to build higher-value Abu Dhabi packages combining accommodation, attractions and experiences around a reduced upfront visa cost. This comes as India’s outbound travel market continues to reorganise.
