Turkish Travel Professionals Explore Azerbaijan’s Offerings

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) hosted a familiarisation trip for representatives of 12 leading travel companies from Türkiye from June 15-20, aiming to strengthen business connections and provide firsthand experience of Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism offerings . The programme included visits to Baku’s UNESCO World Heritage sites and exploration of regions including Shamakhi, Gabala, and Shaki. A key feature was the B2B workshop held on June 19, bringing together FAM trip participants with key representatives from Azerbaijan’s tourism industry . The strengthening of tourism ties is reflected in visitor arrivals data, with the number of visitors from Türkiye to Azerbaijan increasing by 10.6 percent during January-May 2026, reaching 191,776 visitors . This regional collaboration highlights the growing importance of destination familiarisation programmes in driving tourism flows between neighbouring countries.
