Southeast Asia’s tourism strategy is moving towards longer stays and higher-value visitors
Thailand’s new 2027 strategy and Singapore‘s renewed India push point to a broader regional trend: Southeast Asian destinations are increasingly seeking higher-value travellers, longer stays, repeat visits and multi-experience itineraries.
Thailand is targeting US$94.7 billion in tourism revenue, while Singapore is actively promoting four-night-plus packages and MICE travel among Indian visitors.
Trade angle: This is significant for Indian wholesalers and DMCs because destinations are becoming more receptive to bundled itineraries combining leisure, MICE, wellness, cruise and cultural experiences.
