Qatar Airways completes major Starlink rollout across widebody fleet
Qatar Airways has become the first airline to operate Starlink-equipped Boeing 787-9 aircraft, while its total Starlink-connected widebody fleet has reached 150 aircraft.
The airline says more than 23 million passengers have already connected to Starlink across more than 86,000 flights since onboard connectivity was introduced in October 2024. Wi-Fi speeds can reach up to 500 Mbps.
Why this matters: Connectivity is increasingly becoming part of the airline product itself. For premium, corporate and MICE travellers, reliable onboard internet is shifting from “nice to have” to a competitive differentiator.
