Korean Air finalises US$44.8 billion Boeing and engine agreements
Korean Air has finalised agreements valued at approximately US$44.8 billion covering 103 Boeing aircraft, spare engines and long-term maintenance, according to Asia-Pacific travel industry reporting.
The deal comes as the carrier prepares for post-Asiana capacity growth. The aircraft programme represents another major signal of the scale of fleet renewal underway in Northeast Asia.
The underlying 103-aircraft commitment comprises 777-9s, 787-10s, 737-10s and 777-8 freighters, according to Boeing’s earlier announcement.
B2B takeaway: Korean Air’s fleet strategy is likely to have implications for long-haul capacity, cargo, airport slots and supplier ecosystems across Asia.
