Destination Canada Begins Leadership Transition as Marsha Walden Departs
Destination Canada has entered a new leadership phase following the departure of President and CEO Marsha Walden, whose final day in the role was June 30. Meaghan Ferrigno, the organisation’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Data and Analytics Officer, has been appointed interim CEO while a permanent successor is selected.
Walden led Destination Canada through the pandemic recovery and helped strengthen the country’s global tourism brand, introducing new marketing initiatives and data-driven strategies. Ferrigno now takes charge at a pivotal time as Canada prepares to capitalise on major international opportunities, including growing long-haul visitor markets and global events, while continuing efforts to boost tourism competitiveness and business events across the country.
