Riyadh flight disruption puts India–Saudi Arabia travel plans under pressure

Indian carriers disrupted Riyadh services following a reported missile incident involving King Khalid International Airport. Air India and Air India Express suspended services through 10 October, while IndiGo cancelled or diverted some flights. Passengers were offered refunds or rescheduling options, depending on the airline.

The scale of the disruption was significant: Cirium data cited by Business Standard indicated that 169 of 378 scheduled departures from Riyadh had been cancelled by mid-afternoon on 8 October. The same report counted 286 weekly nonstop passenger flights between India and Riyadh, demonstrating the importance of the corridor.

Why it matters: Tour operators, corporate travel desks and pilgrimage specialists should verify live flight status, rebooking conditions and onward connections before confirming itineraries. The reported suspension deadline is not proof that every service resumed on 11 October.
