Air India and Adani Airports Launch Online Duty-Free Shopping Platform

Air India and Adani Airport Holdings have introduced an integrated online duty-free shopping platform, allowing eligible international passengers to browse products, pre-order purchases and pay before travelling.

The digital storefront has been integrated into Air India’s website and mobile application. Passengers can collect their purchases at designated duty-free counters at participating airports. The platform offers discounts of up to 25% against standard retail shelf prices, while customers can also combine eligible bank offers and seasonal promotions.

The service currently covers international travellers using participating duty-free facilities at Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram. The initiative also connects duty-free purchases with Air India’s Maharaja Club, with eligible members earning three Maharaja Points for every ₹100 spent.

The move reflects the broader shift towards digitising the airport retail journey. For airlines and airports, online pre-ordering can potentially improve passenger convenience while creating additional opportunities to engage travellers before they reach the terminal. The platform is expected to expand to more gateways in later phases.
