Sri Lanka welcomes a major Japanese group — and signals a revival of organised travel

More than 250 Japanese visitors have arrived in Sri Lanka in what has been described as one of the country’s largest privately organised Japanese tourist delegations.

Sri Lanka‘s Embassy in Japan described the movement of approximately 250 Japanese travellers on a single flight as an encouraging development and one of the largest organised Japanese groups travelling together.

The group is travelling through Buddhist and cultural sites including Anuradhapura and Mihintale.
