Willie Walsh Officially Assumes Role as IndiGo CEO

Willie Walsh has officially taken charge as Chief Executive Officer of IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share. His appointment marks a new chapter for the carrier as it enters its third decade of operations and continues expanding internationally. Walsh brings more than four decades of aviation leadership, having previously led Aer Lingus, British Airways, International Airlines Group and the International Air Transport Association. In his new role, he will oversee IndiGo’s management, strategic direction, operational performance, network growth and customer experience. The airline has also been involved in initiatives such as the contactless international travel trial at Bengaluru Airport, reflecting its focus on technology and passenger processing.
