Uzbekistan boosts domestic travel for Eid
Uzbekistan has introduced holiday-period discounts to stimulate domestic travel during Eid al-Adha, with reductions of up to 20% on accommodation and up to 10% on tickets to state museums and heritage sites from May 27 to 31, 2026. The policy was announced by the Tourism Committee as part of a broader effort to support local tourism and holiday mobility.
The move is practical as well as symbolic. By encouraging residents to travel internally during a short festive window, Uzbekistan can spread demand beyond peak international seasons and keep tourism revenue circulating at home. For trade partners, this also signals a maturing market where domestic demand is becoming a more deliberate policy tool, rather than a fallback.
