IHG & Adani Sign Five-Hotel Deal: 1,500 Rooms, Kimpton Enters India

Adani Airport Holdings Limited (India’s largest private airport operator) signed a managed hotel portfolio agreement with IHG Hotels & Resorts to develop five airport-linked hotels across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Jaipur, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram.

The numbers:

Nearly 1,500 keys across Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants (marking Kimpton’s India debut). AAHL’s airport city developments span approximately 663 acres across key cities.

Why it matters for B2B:

This signals a structural shift where Indian airports are becoming integrated commercial ecosystems not just transit hubs. For hotel wholesalers and travel management companies new inventory in high-demand airport corridors. For MICE planners the Holiday Inn Express model targets corporate and transit segments. For luxury operators Kimpton in Jaipur positions itself against heritage hotels for the design-conscious luxury traveler.

“Our vision is to create world-class destinations that seamlessly integrate travel, stay and urban experiences around India’s rapidly growing aviation ecosystem.”
— Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprises Limited

“This partnership reflects the scale of opportunity we continue to see in India’s hospitality sector, particularly across gateway cities and airport-led developments.”
— Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts
